Product Care
Our stock is made up of wholesale second-hand clothing, vintage pieces, pre-loved garments, deadstock, and overstock. Items may come from different brands, eras, factories, and previous storage conditions, so care needs can vary from piece to piece.
Please check each item before washing, steaming, tagging, photographing, or reselling.
General Care Tips
- Check the care label first where one is available.
- Wash cold where possible.
- Use mild detergent.
- Avoid bleach unless the garment label clearly allows it.
- Wash colours separately, especially dark, bright, or older dyed items.
- Air dry where possible to help reduce shrinking, fading, and fabric stress.
- Do not tumble dry delicate, wool, knit, printed, or older garments unless the label says it is suitable.
- Spot clean light marks before putting items through a full wash.
- Test stain removers on a hidden area first.
Vintage And Pre-Loved Clothing
Vintage and pre-loved stock can show signs of age, previous wear, storage, or repair. This is normal for second-hand wholesale clothing.
Handle older fabrics, embroidery, prints, zips, buttons, and stitching with care. Some garments may be better suited to hand washing, steaming, or dry cleaning depending on the material and condition.
Before resale, we recommend checking each item for marks, odours, loose threads, missing buttons, fabric weakness, and wash suitability.
Deadstock And Overstock Clothing
Deadstock and overstock items are usually unworn or surplus stock, but they may have been stored for a long time.
Some pieces may need airing, steaming, or a light wash before display or resale. Packaging marks, fold lines, dust, small storage odours, or ageing on labels can occur with older stock.
Treat deadstock as new old stock, not always the same as freshly manufactured retail stock.
Mixed Lots And Wholesale Handling
Wholesale lots may include a mix of fabrics, sizes, brands, ages, and conditions. One care method may not suit the whole lot.
Sort items before cleaning where possible:
- Whites and lights
- Darks and colours
- Knits and wool
- Delicates
- Heavy outerwear
- Printed or embellished items
- Items needing repair or stain treatment
This helps protect better pieces and reduces damage during processing.
Storage
Store clothing in a clean, dry space away from direct sunlight.
Fold knitwear and heavy stretch items to help prevent stretching. Hang jackets, coats, shirts, and structured pieces where suitable.
Keep stock away from damp areas, strong odours, and high heat. For longer storage, use breathable covers or clean containers and check stock regularly.
